Legal and Human Rights Affairs department is accountable to the president of the university. This division comprises three key units: Civil Affairs, Criminal Affairs, and Human Rights Affairs. Its principal responsibility is to handle and oversee all legal and human rights-related matters inside the university. The division provides a wide range of services, including giving legal aid, preparing pleadings, defenses, and counterclaims, and giving legal guidance and assistance. It is also responsible for ensuring the university’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations, protecting the university’s interests, and handling legal affairs. The division also drafts legal documents, ensures the validity of all signed contracts by the university, handles lawsuits and disputes, resolves legal issues as they arise, prosecutes civil cases in court, and attends litigation processes. Furthermore, the division plays a crucial role in capacity building by providing legal training and consultancy to administrative and support staff.
