The Foreign and Peacekeeping Training Center (FPTC) of the Ethiopian Police University is dedicated to training and research in peace support operations. Organized under the Training Vice President with three departments Peacekeeping Training, Foreign Training, and Foreign Language Training the center prepares police and civilian personnel for effective participation in UN peacekeeping missions, reinforcing Ethiopia’s contribution to global peace and security. Its mission is to enhance the capabilities and increase the deployment of Ethiopian police officers in international peacekeeping, while its vision is to become a center of excellence in peacekeeping training, improving operational decision-making and efficiency. Core activities include Pre-SAAT Exam Training, UN Peacekeeping Pre-Deployment Training, Individual Police Officers (IPO) Training, Formed Police Units (FPU) Training, and foreign language training (English, French, and Chinese). Through strategic collaborations with national and international organizations, the FPTC strengthens its training programs, ensuring mission ready personnel. By equipping peacekeepers with critical skills, the center plays a pivotal role in advancing Ethiopia’s commitment to international peace and security.
