The College of Crime Investigation and Forensic Science, established in 2011 under the Ethiopian Police University, represents a strategic national investment in modern, science-based law enforcement. Evolving from its precursor, the Institute of Crime Investigation and Forensic Science, it has matured into a dynamic and essential academic institution. The College is organized into two core academic units: the Department of Forensic Science and the Department of Crime Investigation and Information.
These departments deliver a progressive suite of certificate, undergraduate (BSc), and specialized short-cycle programs, meticulously designed to meet the complex and evolving demands of contemporary policing, criminal justice, and national security. The curriculum is a deliberate fusion of rigorous scientific theory and immersive practical application. Students engage in hands-on laboratory analysis, crime scene simulation exercises, and training in modern investigation tools .
